(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 8) In response to the potential impact of Typhoon Bavi on flights, China Airlines announced today that passengers holding China Airlines tickets for travel between July 9 and July 11 will have rebooking fees waived if they change their reservations before July 31.
According to the Central Weather Administration website, the center of Typhoon Bavi was located 1490 kilometers east-southeast of Eluanbi at 8 a.m. today, moving west at 21 kilometers per hour, turning northwest-west. The maximum wind speed near the center is 60 meters per second, with a 7-level wind radius of 380 kilometers.
China Airlines issued a press release stating that to allow passengers to flexibly arrange their itineraries in advance, passengers holding China Airlines tickets for travel between July 9 and July 11, 2026, will have rebooking fees waived if they change their reservations before July 31. Passengers can contact their original ticketing travel agency or China Airlines customer service centers and branch offices for assistance. Detailed regulations can be found on the official website.
According to the "China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines Flight Flexibility Rebooking Measures in Response to Typhoon Bavi" announced on the China Airlines official website, within the ticket's validity period and provided the itinerary and booking class remain unchanged, and within the scope permitted by relevant regulations, passengers can rebook to flights on other dates and will be exempted from one rebooking fee (including agency rebooking service fees). If there is a fare difference or tax difference due to the change, it will still need to be paid. When rebooking, China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines self-operated flights will be prioritized.
However, if passengers choose to cancel their tickets, according to the announcement, ticket refunds will be subject to rebooking fees according to ticket regulations (tickets purchased on the China Airlines website, at branch offices, or customer service centers can be refunded on the China Airlines website).
China Airlines stated that it will continuously update flight information based on the typhoon's path changes and recommends that passengers use the China Airlines website, download the Mobile APP, or use the mobile SMS reminder function to check and confirm the latest flight change information.
