When library staff approached to stop her, she lost control and sprayed a fire extinguisher. Police arrived and subdued her, discovering she was wanted for theft. She was later referred for prosecution on suspicion of public endangerment and property damage.
According to police investigations, the 44-year-old woman began shouting loudly around noon on the first floor of the library, disrupting the peaceful environment. The library's Director Zhuang noticed the situation and approached to intervene, but the woman suddenly lost emotional control, ran upstairs to the second floor, and took a fire extinguisher without authorization, spraying it and filling the area with smoke. Police officers quickly arrived and took control of the situation, bringing all involved parties to the police station for questioning. Director Zhuang later filed charges against the woman for public endangerment and property damage. During identity verification, police discovered that the woman had been wanted since December 15, 2024, for involvement in a theft case, as issued by the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office.
