(CNA, Taipei, July 8) The Ministry of National Defense announced today that starting at 11:53 AM, 14 PLA aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line, encroaching upon the northern, central, and southwestern airspace. In coordination with naval vessels, under the guise of "joint combat readiness patrols," they harassed Taiwan's surrounding air and sea areas. The national army is closely monitoring the situation.

The Ministry of National Defense issued a press release this evening stating that starting at 11:53 AM, it successively detected a total of 22 PLA aircraft, including J-16, JH-7, KJ-500, and other types of main and auxiliary fighter jets, as well as drones, operating at sea. Among them, 14 aircraft crossed the median line and its extension, entering Taiwan's northern, central, and southwestern airspace. In coordination with naval vessels, under the guise of "joint combat readiness patrols," they harassed Taiwan's surrounding air and sea areas.

The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the national army is closely monitoring the situation using joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance means, and has dispatched mission aircraft, vessels, and shore-based missile systems to respond appropriately.
