(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 8) The Digital Development Administration (DDA) today provided an update on the "Call for Private Sector Proposals to Participate in AI Computing Center BOO Project." A total of 3 companies applied, with Asia Bay Supercomputing Co., Ltd. and Tech-Power Technology Co., Ltd. passing the qualification review. Public hearings have been scheduled for July 17 and July 21, respectively, to widely gather opinions.
The DDA has included AI computing centers as a major public infrastructure project for digital development and is promoting it through a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model, where private enterprises are responsible for investment, construction, and operation. The official announcement for the call for private sector proposals to participate in the AI computing center BOO project was made on April 15 this year, marking Taiwan's first landmark digital infrastructure public-private partnership (PPP) case.
The DDA stated that the submission deadline for this project was May 14, 2026, with a total of 3 companies submitting applications. After qualification review, Asia Bay Supercomputing Co., Ltd. and Tech-Power Technology Co., Ltd. passed. The DDA announced on its website on July 6 that public hearings for the two companies have been scheduled for July 17 and July 21, respectively, to collect opinions from local residents as a reference for future development directions, hoping to meet local needs.
Regarding the other applicant, Southeast Development Investment Co., Ltd., the DDA stated that the company's submitted feasibility assessment report did not pass. However, the DDA will continue to promote digital infrastructure PPP projects in the future. All parties are welcome to submit applications when relevant PPP policy announcements are made.
