The Kinmen County Health Bureau stated that as of noon today, a cumulative total of 181 affected oil products have been removed from shelves for recycling, along with 256 food items made with affected raw materials, which were preemptively removed.

The Kinmen County Health Bureau issued a press release today stating that it has inspected food businesses such as various sales channels, catering establishments, schools, and manufacturers, and has expanded its investigation to long-term care and social welfare institutions. Problematic batches of oil products and affected processed products have been removed from shelves for recycling.

Health Bureau Director Li Chin-chih said that as of noon today, Kinmen County has cumulatively removed 181 affected oil products from shelves for recycling, and preemptively removed 256 food items made with affected raw materials. The recall of related products is being processed sequentially.

Li Chin-chih pointed out that to ensure that the problematic oil products have not entered the market, the Health Bureau, in conjunction with consumer protection officers, the Department of Government Ethics, and the Fujian Provincial Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, has inspected major sales channels, catering businesses, manufacturers, and night market food vendors. A total of 181 businesses have been inspected so far. It was found that no related problematic products are currently being sold on shelves, and no businesses were found to be using oil products from the problematic batches.

The Health Bureau stated that it will continue to inspect the use of cooking oil on the market and affected secondary products. It also reminds consumers that if they have purchased related products, they can return them to the retailer.
