Tainan's "Taxi Bus" Expands to Xinshi and Xinhua Districts, Routes Green 33 and Green 34 Launched

(Central News Agency, reporter Zhang Rongxiang, Tainan, July 9) Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che announced today that Tainan's "Taxi Bus" is expanding to Xinshi and Xinhua districts with the launch of routes Green 33 and Green 34. This brings the total number of "Taxi Bus" routes to 46, extending its service coverage to 31 administrative districts across the city.

Huang Wei-che stated today that the Tainan City Government launched the "Taxi Bus" program in 2019. These are the 45th and 46th routes, connecting transfer stations, train stations, and hospitals, significantly improving transportation and daily convenience. Elderly citizens can also use their senior cards for free rides regardless of distance.

Huang Wei-che added that the "Taxi Bus" allows people to "enjoy taxi service at bus fares." Since its launch, it has served over 500,000 citizens and has become an indispensable mode of transportation in daily life.

The city government explained that Green 33 (Tanding Daitian Temple - Annan Hospital) serves residents of suburban settlements in Xinshi such as Tanding, Lunziding, Yongjiu Fanziliao, and Shennei, facilitating round trips to Xinshi Market for shopping and to the district office for official business, with direct access to Annan Hospital for medical treatment. It also connects to Xinshi Railway Station and Heshun Transfer Station for convenient transfers.

Green 34 (Xinhua Circular Route) is the first circular "Taxi Bus" route. It passes through traditional settlements on the outskirts of Xinhua, including Zhiyi, Shanzijiao, and Zhuzijiao, providing direct service from residents' doorsteps to Xinhua Old Street or Xinhua Station, from where they can transfer to Green trunk lines to the city center.
