TSMC Dips at Close, Taiwan Stocks Fall 379 Points to 45354

(CNA, reporter Zeng Renkai, Taipei, July 9) Taiwan stocks today experienced volatile consolidation within a range of approximately 300 points above and below the flat line, briefly breaking above the 46,000-point mark during the session. At the end of trading, TSMC's stock price was pushed down, closing at its lowest point for the day at NT$2415, down NT$50. The TAIEX index closed down 379.8 points at 45354.61, with a trading volume of NT$944.341 billion, a decrease in volume.

Among the four major weighted stocks, TSMC closed down NT$50, or 2.03%, at NT$2415; MediaTek fell NT$70, or 1.75%, to NT$3925; Delta Electronics slightly declined NT$5, or 0.27%, to NT$1880; Hon Hai closed at the flat price of NT$237.5. (Editor: Zhang Liangzhi) 1150709
