(Central News Agency, Islamabad, July 8th, Comprehensive Foreign Dispatch) Pakistani authorities announced today that search and rescue personnel have found the wreckage of a missing cargo plane, more than 12 hours after it disappeared off the southern coast of Pakistan. The whereabouts of the five crew members on board are still unknown, and rescue teams are continuing their search.

According to Reuters, the Pakistan Airports Authority stated that search and rescue personnel found the cargo plane wreckage approximately 98 kilometers south of Ormara Port. They also indicated that the Pakistan Navy and the Maritime Security Agency have deployed multiple maritime and aerial search and rescue resources to locate the plane and continue the search for the missing crew. This crashed cargo plane belongs to K2 Airways.

K2 Airways stated that there were five crew members on board, including two pilots, two engineers, and one support staff member. Pakistani authorities have not yet officially announced the condition of the five crew members, but Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his "sincere condolences" to the families.

John Cox, an American aviation safety expert and former commercial pilot, stated in an interview that current flight tracking data shows the crew struggled to control the aircraft during its final flight phase, and the plane may have entered a stall and was descending at high speed.

Pakistani authorities have not yet stated whether they have recovered the "black box" that could provide crucial data.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated that it has appointed a representative, along with technical advisors from Boeing, GE Aerospace, and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to assist Pakistan in its investigation.
