Deric Wan "The Way to Success" Features High-Speed Chases and Close-Quarters Combat, Tiffany Hsu's Legs Turn to Jelly During Car Stunt

(CNA, Taipei, July 9) The drama series "The Way to Success," set against the backdrop of the 2008 financial crisis, today unveiled its dual-timeline plot. Deric Wan plays a criminal investigator who must tackle action scenes including high-speed chases and close-quarters combat, while Tiffany Hsu was so nervous about filming a car chase in a multi-story car park that her legs went weak.

"The Way to Success" stars Deric Wan, Yao Chun-yao, Tiffany Hsu (also known as Bao Hua), and Huang Di-yang, blending elements of crime, investigation, and business warfare. Produced by the team led by Tom Sheng-rong, the producer of "Copycat Killer" and "The Victim's Game," the series spans 14 episodes divided into two seasons.

The production team today highlighted key viewing points, including Deric Wan's training in firearms and tactical assault for action scenes. He spent four to five hours filming under the scorching sun each day, joking that he was dehydrated after every shoot. Tiffany Hsu, on the other hand, was so nervous about filming a car chase in a multi-story car park that her legs went weak.

The story also employs a dual-timeline narrative of youth and adulthood. Deric Wan, Yao Chun-yao, and Tiffany Hsu all don high school uniforms, depicting the profound changes in friendship tested by reality and self-interest. Additionally, Li Ming-yi makes a long-awaited return to Taiwanese drama, and YouTuber Joseph will portray a criminal investigator.

Tom Sheng-rong stated that he hopes to reflect societal changes through the crime story. Deric Wan believes the series truly explores whether people remember their original intentions after pursuing success.

"The Way to Success" will premiere on July 25th, with two episodes released weekly. It will be broadcast sequentially on PTS, Netflix (Taiwan), Hami Video, MyVideo, and EBC Drama. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150709
