(CNA Taipei, July 9) Minor League Baseball (MiLB) 1A Dodgers Taiwanese infielder Ko Ching-hsien had a hot bat today, hitting his 14th home run of the season and driving in 5 runs in a single game. Phillies 2A pitcher Pan Wen-hui came on in relief and pitched 1 scoreless inning.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' 1A team faced the Seattle Mariners in a slugfest today. Ko Ching-hsien, batting cleanup and playing right field, hit a two-run homer to center field in the bottom of the first inning. In the same inning, he hit a bases-clearing triple with the bases loaded, driving in 3 RBIs and helping his team take an 11-0 lead from the start.

Ko Ching-hsien then hit a fly ball out in the bottom of the second, struck out in the bottom of the fourth and seventh, and drew a walk in the bottom of the eighth. He had 2 hits in 5 at-bats for the game, with 5 RBIs. His batting average is now .286. Although the Dodgers' 1A team also scored 11 runs in the top of the seventh, they maintained their offensive pressure and ultimately won 22-21.

Pan Wen-hui, playing for the Philadelphia Phillies' 2A team, appeared against the New York Yankees. He came on in the seventh inning and first induced a fly ball out. He then hit a batter and allowed the runner to steal second base, but followed up by getting two outs with an infield grounder and a strikeout.
