Typhoon Bavi Affects Flights; Airlines Cancel Most Services on July 10 and 11

(CNA) Affected by the approaching Typhoon Bavi, as of 6 p.m. today, various airlines have announced changes to their flight schedules for July 10 and 11, urging passengers traveling on these two days to pay attention to flight information.

According to the Central Weather Bureau's observations, the center of Typhoon Bavi was located at 19.0 degrees North latitude and 128.6 degrees East longitude at 5 p.m. today, approximately 870 kilometers east-southeast of Eluanbi.

EVA Air Cancels Most Flights

As of 6 p.m. today, various airlines have successively announced changes to their flight schedules for July 10 and 11. EVA Air stated that except for the flights BR032 Taoyuan-New York, BR036 Taoyuan-Toronto, BR004 Taoyuan-Washington, and BR050 Taoyuan-Dallas on July 10, which will maintain normal takeoffs and landings, all other flights taking off and landing at Taoyuan Airport and Songshan Airport from 6 p.m. on July 10 to 12 a.m. on July 11 have been canceled. Additionally, flights taking off and landing at Kaohsiung Airport from 3 p.m. on July 10 to 12 a.m. on July 11 have all been canceled.

Tigerair Taiwan Cancels, Advances, or Delays Some Flights

Tigerair Taiwan announced that canceled flights include tomorrow's IT281/IT202/IT203/IT201 Taiwan to Tokyo Narita and return; IT792/IT729/IT230/IT231/IT288/IT289/IT232/IT233 Taiwan to Okinawa Naha and return; IT262/IT263/IT215 Taiwan to Okayama and return; IT270/IT271/IT720/IT721 Taiwan to Fukuoka and return; IT794/IT795/IT766/IT767 Taiwan to Kumamoto and return; IT606/IT607/IT662/IT663/IT670/IT633 Taiwan to South Korea and return; IT228/IT229 Taoyuan to Niigata and return; IT724/IT725 Taoyuan to Yonago and return; IT736/IT737 Taoyuan to Ishigaki Island and return; IT285/IT211/IT213 Osaka Kansai to Taiwan; IT237/IT235 Hokkaido to Taiwan; IT209/IT779 Nagoya to Taiwan; IT552 Da Nang to Taoyuan.

Advanced flights include IT212 Taoyuan to Osaka Kansai; IT602 Taoyuan to Seoul Incheon; IT778 Taichung to Nagoya; IT551 Taoyuan to Da Nang.

As for IT752 Taoyuan to Fukushima, and IT753 Fukushima to Taoyuan, they will be delayed until July 12.

Starlux Airlines Flight Adjustments

Starlux Airlines announced that flights from July 9 to 12 will have adjustments, rescheduled times, or cancellations. Starlux Airlines urges passengers to check the latest flight information before their journey.

Singapore Airlines, Thai Vietjet Air, Cathay Pacific Cancel Flights

Singapore Airlines stated that flights SQ877 and SQ879 from Taipei to Singapore on July 11 have been canceled. Thai Vietjet Air announced that VZ570 Bangkok to Taoyuan on July 9; VZ570 Taoyuan to Sapporo, VZ571 Sapporo to Taoyuan, and VZ571 Taoyuan to Bangkok on July 10 have been canceled. On July 10 and July 11, VZ571 Taoyuan to Bangkok, VZ568 Taoyuan to Okinawa, VZ569 Okinawa to Taoyuan, VZ569 Taoyuan to Bangkok, VZ566 Bangkok to Taoyuan, VZ566 Taoyuan to Osaka, VZ567 Osaka to Taoyuan, and VZ567 Taoyuan to Bangkok have all been canceled.

Cathay Pacific announced that tomorrow's CX402/464/408 Hong Kong to Taipei and CX448 Hong Kong to Kaohsiung flights are canceled, as are CX479/469 Taipei to Hong Kong. On July 11, all flights from Hong Kong to Taipei, Hong Kong to Kaohsiung, Taipei to Hong Kong, and Kaohsiung to Hong Kong are canceled. Flights from Taipei to Tokyo Narita/Osaka/Nagoya and from Tokyo Narita/Osaka/Nagoya to Taipei are also canceled. On July 12, CX407 Taipei to Hong Kong and CX449 Kaohsiung to Hong Kong are canceled.

Domestic Flight Cancellations

For domestic flights, Uni Air stated that from 10 a.m. on July 10, flights from Songshan and Taichung to Matsu and return are canceled. From noon, flights from Songshan and Taichung to Penghu and Kinmen and return are canceled. From 2 p.m., flights from Chiayi, Tainan, and Kaohsiung to Penghu and Kinmen and return are canceled. Flights from Songshan to Hualien and Taitung and return are canceled for the entire day. On July 11, all domestic flights of Uni Air are canceled.

Mandarin Airlines stated that on the morning of July 10, four additional flights AE2063/AE2064/AE2065/AE2067 from Songshan to Kinmen and return have been added, along with two additional flights AE337/338 from Kaohsiung to Penghu and return. Afternoon flights from Songshan and Taichung and flights from Kaohsiung after 2 p.m. are canceled. Flights from Songshan and Kaohsiung to Nangan and return are canceled for the entire day.
