Regarding the Zhonglian oil incident, Taipei City's Health Department announced today that it has inspected 27 newly listed businesses in Taipei identified by the Food and Drug Administration. These include 22 downstream users of Zhonglian oil supplied by Fushou and 5 from Fumao, all of which are required to immediately recall affected products and provide return and exchange information.

The Health Department also stated that Nanchiao Oils voluntarily detected a new batch of contaminated oil on July 9 and reported 84 downstream records of the reprocessed products, bringing the total number of affected outlets to 97. Taipei City has ordered Nanchiao and its downstream vendors to recall the problematic products and will continue monitoring information released by central authorities and other counties. If additional items are identified, the city will trace their distribution and ensure removal from shelves.

On school food safety, the Department of Education reported that one additional meal catering provider and five schools have been affected: Xing'an Elementary School and its affiliated Zhongyuan Food Industrial Development Co., Ltd., Wugong Elementary School's affiliated kindergarten, Wanfu Elementary School's affiliated kindergarten, Zhishan Elementary School's affiliated kindergarten, and Chang'an Elementary School's affiliated kindergarten. Inspectors have visited these schools to inventory and seal off the oil products, and schools have been instructed to promptly notify parents. As of July 13, a total of 64 schools in Taipei City have been affected by the incident.
