(Central News Agency reporter Hsu Chi-wei, Taipei, July 14) The second day of the 115th academic year Subject Exam was held today, with exams in History, Geography, Mathematics II, and Civics and Society. Mobile phones brought into the examination venue must be completely powered off. Any phone not fully powered off will be considered a violation, regardless of its location.

The 115th academic year Subject Exam is being held on July 13 and July 14. Today's second day includes exams in History, Geography, Mathematics II, and Civics and Society. Approximately 19,000 candidates registered for History, around 16,000 each for Geography and Math II, and about 20,000 for Civics.

According to a press release from the College Entrance Examination Center, candidates must ensure that all alarm functions on watches are disabled and that mobile phones placed in temporary storage areas are completely powered off (including alarms, vibration, notification sounds, and all other functions) before taking their seats in the examination room. If a mobile phone is found to be not fully powered off after the exam begins, it will be considered a violation regardless of where it is located.

Candidates must bring an original valid identification document for the exam (national ID card, photo health insurance card, driver’s license, Republic of China disability certificate, passport, or residence permit). Student IDs, with or without photos, are not valid.

To prevent electronic cheating, the Examination Center stated that examination staff may conduct electronic and metal detection checks when necessary to verify whether candidates are carrying or using prohibited mobile phones or wearable devices. Candidates must fully cooperate and must not evade these checks. Those who evade or refuse inspection will be reported to the Examination Committee for disciplinary action based on the severity of the case. (Edited by Tsai Chia-min) 1150714
