(CNA Guadalajara, December 12 — Comprehensive international news report) A serious traffic accident occurred today in Jalisco state, Mexico, where two trucks initially collided, and a third truck subsequently crashed into multiple vehicles at the accident site, resulting in at least 10 deaths, including two children.

According to AFP, authorities stated the incident occurred near the town of Hostotipaquillo, on the border between Jalisco state and western Nayarit state.

The civil defense unit of Nayarit state reported that road personnel were handling the earlier collision between two trucks when a third truck高速ly crashed into the stationary vehicles, causing a 'larger-scale accident'.

Two trucks and three other vehicles caught fire at the scene, and a patrol vehicle from Mexico's National Guard was also damaged in the crash.

According to Jalisco state's civil defense authorities, two of the 10 deceased were minors.

Ten others were injured in the accident, including two National Guard members with severe injuries and four U.S. citizens with minor injuries.
