U.S.-Iran War Key News
(CNA, Washington, 13th – Comprehensive Foreign Report) The U.S. military announced today that it will resume blockade operations on Iranian ports starting tomorrow.
According to AFP, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a press release: "The U.S. military will resume blocking maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports at 4:00 PM Eastern Time on July 14 (4:00 AM Taiwan time on July 15)."
Reuters reported that the blockade will cover all Iranian ports, oil terminals, and coastal areas, applying to all vessels regardless of nationality. Any vessel suspected of unauthorized entry or exit from the blocked zone may be intercepted, diverted, or seized. Non-compliant vessels may face enforcement actions under the law.
The Joint Maritime Information Center, led by the U.S. Navy, stated: "Any vessel suspected of unauthorized movement into or out of the blockade zone may be intercepted, diverted, or detained. Vessels that do not comply may be subject to lawful enforcement measures."
The Center emphasized that neutral transits through the Strait of Hormuz bound for non-Iranian destinations will not be affected. (Compiled by Lu Ying-tzu) 1150714
