(Taipei, April 13 — Reporter Li Chien-chung) At the WTT Asuncion Feeder held in Paraguay, Taiwan's young player Huang Yujie first claimed the women's doubles title alongside partner Tsai Yun-en, then defeated Tsai in the women's singles final, winning both titles in a single day in an all-Taiwan showdown.
The World Table Tennis (WTT) held its feeder event in Asuncion, Paraguay, where 23-year-old Huang Yujie and her partner Tsai Yun-en won the women's doubles final by defeating the Chilean pair 11–5, 11–6, 10–12, 11–3, securing the first title of the day.
Just over an hour later, Huang and Tsai faced off again in the women's singles final, marking an internal Taiwan clash.
Currently ranked 57th in the world, Huang held a 3–1 head-to-head advantage over Tsai in previous international matches. She started the match strongly, taking the first two sets 11–5 and 11–8 to move within one set of victory.
However, Tsai refused to back down. In the third set, trailing 7–9, she leveled the score and saved two match points before winning 13–11 after reaching 11–11.
In the fourth set, Tsai again overcame a 5–7 deficit, launching a 6–2 run to win 11–9 and force a deciding fifth set.
The final set was tense and error-prone. Huang surged to a 6–1 lead, but Tsai responded with six consecutive points to take the lead.
Huang regained composure, using powerful forehand attacks to score five straight points and clinch the victory. With this win, Huang became the third Taiwanese player this year—after Yeh I-tien and Li Yu-chun—to win a WTT Feeder women's singles title.
The WTT tournament structure consists of three tiers: WTT Series (top-level), WTT Feeder Series (developmental), and WTT Youth Series (entry-level). The WTT Series features elite events with multiple grades, while the WTT Feeder Series serves as a foundational circuit below the main series. The WTT Youth Series is designed for junior players to begin their international careers. (Editor: Lin Shu-hui) 1150713
