(CNA reporter Hao Hsueh-ching, Taichung, July 14) The public voting for the most popular restaurants at the Taichung Hotpot & BBQ Festival kicked off today. Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen announced that residents can participate in the voting and enter a prize draw without making any purchases. Prizes include 300 sets of NT$10,000 vouchers, luxury cars, round-trip air tickets to Japan, and 6,000 coffee coupons.

Mayor Lu announced during a city council meeting that the voting period runs from today through August 14. Residents can access the 'Taichung Pass' app to vote online—no purchase required—and stand a chance to win NT$10,000 hotpot and BBQ vouchers, luxury cars, and coffee coupons. The initiative aims to boost restaurant sales during the traditionally slow summer season for hotpot and barbecue dining.

The Taichung City Economic Development Bureau stated that the 'Taichung Hotpot & BBQ Festival' voting begins today on the 'Taichung Pass TCPASS' app, featuring five voting categories: Hotpot Brands, Hotpot Alleys, BBQ Brands, BBQ Alleys, and Vegetarian Options.

The bureau explained that residents who log in to the app and cast their votes will receive lottery entries. Users can vote five times daily across the categories. Each completed category vote grants one lottery chance, and completing all five categories allows up to five daily entries. A total of 300 sets of NT$10,000 vouchers, luxury cars, five round-trip air tickets to Japan, and 6,000 coffee coupons are up for grabs, with 200 coffee coupons drawn daily.

Kim Tai-hung, founder of Wuma Dining Group, one of the participating restaurants, said that customers who post their voting confirmation for 'Wuma Yakiniku Zhonggang Store' in the designated Facebook post comments will be entered into a special draw. Prizes include round-trip air tickets for two from Taichung to Seoul. Additionally, premium Australian wagyu beef meal vouchers worth over NT$60,000 in total are available, turning every vote into a chance for both a culinary and travel experience.

Moreover, Wuma is offering an in-store bonus campaign: during the event period, customers who dine at any Wuma Yakiniku outlet and show their voting screen to staff may win limited-edition Taichung city cups or premium meat platters on-site. (Editor: Chen Jen-hua) 1150714
