The weighted index opened at 45,364.40, with an intraday high of 45,364.40 and a low of 43,654.04. The non-financial index closed at 40,185.99, down 589.84 points.
Performance of the eight major sectors: Cement & Ceramics down 1.63%, Food down 0.26%, Petrochemicals up 1.86%, Textiles down 0.72%, Electromechanical down 1.67%, Paper & Pulp up 0.63%, Construction down 0.46%, Financials down 1.05%.
Buy orders totaled 25,345,433 lots, sell orders 18,272,549 lots, with 15,303,890 lots traded.
At closing, 217 stocks rose, 829 fell, and 59 remained unchanged.
