(Central News Agency reporter Wu Che-Hao, Changhua, 14th) Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-Mei conducted an on-site inspection this morning of the Lunwei soil temporary storage area within the Changbin Industrial Park. She stated that the site can help resolve soil and rock placement issues across five central Taiwan counties and cities, with a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters. To date, approximately 200,000 cubic meters have been registered.
To assess the operational status of the Lunwei soil temporary storage area, Magistrate Wang Hui-Mei, along with Changhua District Prosecutor Huang Zhi-Yong and Director Wang Zhi-Ming of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau's Changhua County Station, visited the site to review soil acceptance procedures and the establishment of an anti-corruption platform.
In a joint media interview, Magistrate Wang explained that the Ministry of the Interior established the soil and rock temporary storage area in Changbin Industrial Park, investing NT$15 million and entrusting the county government with its operation and management to jointly address soil disposal challenges across five central counties and cities. The site can accommodate up to 400,000 cubic meters of soil, and approximately 200,000 cubic meters have been registered so far. She encouraged public agencies and private construction companies to register early.
Wang emphasized that all soil accepted at the site must have clear, traceable sources; any non-compliant loads will be rejected in full. Management measures include electronic manifests, GPS tracking, and third-party soil testing. To strengthen operational risk control, the county government has collaborated with the District Prosecutor's Office, Investigation Station, and Anti-Corruption Agency to establish a cross-agency 'Changbin Soil and Rock Temporary Storage Area Anti-Corruption Platform'.
The Changhua County Government released a press statement explaining that the Water Resources Department has enhanced operational transparency by creating a dedicated section titled 'Lunwei Soil Temporary Storage Area, Changbin Industrial Park' on the county's official website. This section publicly discloses information such as the soil acceptance implementation plan, application procedures, and case processing status, aiming to create a fair, transparent, and secure soil management environment. This initiative provides a legal and stable channel for soil disposal for public and private construction projects across central Taiwan. (Editor: Li Xi-Zhang) 1150714
