In a Central League matchup today in Taitung, the Fubon Guardians defeated the TSG Hawks 2-0, thanks to a stellar pitching performance by Japanese right-hander Suzuki Shunsuke, who threw 6 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts, ending the Guardians' recent 5-game losing streak.

The Hawks are hosting the Guardians at Taitung Baseball Stadium for today and tomorrow's games. The first three innings were scoreless, but in the top of the 4th, Lin Tse-pin opened with a single and advanced to second via a stolen base. With one out, Chang Yu-cheng drew a walk, and Wang Yi-cheng delivered an RBI single to put the Guardians on the board.

In the top of the 6th, the Guardians added an insurance run. After Lin reached base again with a hit, Wang singled to advance the runner with two outs, and Fan Kuo-hsin followed with a timely single to score the second run.

Guardians starter Suzuki faced a jam in the bottom of the 3rd. He allowed a hit to Tseng Tzu-yu, intentionally walked Steven Moya, and then walked Wang Po-jung, loading the bases. However, he struck out Chen Wen-chieh to escape the threat unscathed.

Suzuki threw a total of 102 pitches over 6 innings, allowing just 2 hits, with 8 strikeouts, 3 walks, 1 hit-by-pitch, and 1 intentional walk. He remained scoreless and earned his 6th win of the season, being named the game's MVP. (Edited by Lin Shu-hui)
