Dahu Agricultural & Industrial Vocational School, in collaboration with the TSMC Charity Foundation, mobilized a team of teachers and students from its cooperative education program to carry out a lighting upgrade project at three schools in Miaoli County—Tongxiao Junior High School, Daxi Junior High School, and Wenshui Elementary School—from July 3 to July 5.
The 'Public Welfare Green Energy - LED Lighting Installation Project,' generously supported by the TSMC Charity Foundation, saw 7 out of 16 cooperative education students actively participate despite the scorching summer heat. Under the guidance of professionals and instructors, the students conducted site surveys, transported and inventoried materials, and overcame personal fears to climb aluminum ladders for dismantling old fixtures and installing new LED lights. Their clothes repeatedly soaked and dried from sweat, yet they demonstrated professional work ethics and efficient teamwork.
Students reflected that unlike routine school or factory internships, installing lights themselves and seeing classrooms illuminated brought a profound sense of achievement. Receiving work stipends also reinforced their confidence in future employment, knowing they could 'earn money with their own hands.'
Principal Liu Yu-Ling of Dahu Agricultural & Industrial Vocational School expressed gratitude to the TSMC Charity Foundation, stating that the project transformed classroom skills into social care. It not only improved campus environments through energy conservation but also created a triple win: students gained practical experience and financial support, local children received better lighting, and carbon emissions were reduced for environmental sustainability.
