The 2026 Japan-Taiwan Image Exhibition kicked off today and will run until the 17th in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Major motor manufacturer TECO Electric & Machinery is participating through its Japanese subsidiary, TECO Japan (TEJ), showcasing its robot joint modules, electric vehicle powertrain systems, and high-payload commercial drone propulsion systems. The company aims to actively expand business opportunities in Japan’s smart manufacturing, electric mobility, and low-altitude economy markets.

TECO President Kao Fei-Yuan stated in a press release, "Japan is a globally significant market for electromechanical systems, automation, and smart manufacturing, and a key overseas hub for TECO’s expansion. Through this exhibition, we are presenting our smart power solutions to enhance brand visibility and unlock new collaboration opportunities in Japan."

TECO explained that its showcased robot joint modules can be applied to humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and intelligent automation equipment. For electric mobility, TECO is exhibiting its self-developed next-generation flat-wire oil-cooled direct-drive motor, suitable for electric buses and large commercial vehicles.

Furthermore, the core technology of the flat-wire motor extends to high-payload commercial drone propulsion systems, supporting drones capable of carrying 50 to 150 kilograms. Applications span logistics and transportation, solar panel cleaning, firefighting and disaster relief, and smart agriculture. (Editor: Yang Lan-Hsuan) 1150715
