Trendy Taipei Tech Music Interactive Exhibition Launches, Inviting Public to Experience Music Culture

According to Central News Agency reporter Yeh Chen-yun, the Taipei City Cultural Affairs Department announced that the 'Trendy Taipei Tech Music Interactive Exhibition' is now open to the public for free from today through September 6. A special 'Trendy Shuttle' is also operating to transport visitors across the city. Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-hua invited the public to experience a different side of Taipei.

Starting today, the Taipei City Cultural Affairs Department is hosting the 'Trendy Taipei Tech Music Interactive Exhibition.' Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-hua, Cultural Affairs Director Tsai Shih-ping, and other officials rode the 'Trendy Shuttle' to the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park to view the exhibition.

The department stated that the 'Trendy Shuttle' will operate on August 29, 30, and September 5 and 6, with five daily runs connecting landmarks such as the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei Music Center, and Taipei 101. Additionally, live DJ performances will take place daily at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM during the event, transforming the shuttle into a mobile music venue.

The 'Trendy Taipei Tech Music Interactive Exhibition' runs from today through September 6 and features three main zones. The 'Taipei Data Hub' catalogs over 1,700 music events and presents them through an interactive data wall made of eight screens. The 'Taipei Sound Engine' allows visitors to select music genres and use facial recognition technology to control sound and music effects through their expressions. The 'Neighborhood Link' zone enables visitors to search for AR landmarks and unlock additional content at locations like the Taipei Dome through turntable scratching experiences.

Curator Amber, also a member of the electronic music curation team 'The Cave,' said Taipei has always been Taiwan's most concentrated and diverse music city. 'We believe music is inherently participatory,' she said. Collaborating with nine music producers, four digital interactive artists, and multiple teams, the exhibition aims to encourage public exploration of Taipei's music culture through gamified interactive experiences.

After touring the exhibition, Deputy Mayor Lin told reporters that each zone was fascinating, particularly the feature allowing users to generate music based on facial expressions and the turntable experience that simulates being a DJ. She encouraged the public to participate. The 'Trendy Taipei' initiative includes 14 series events such as concerts, urban actions, and industry forums, offering the public a fresh perspective on Taipei. (Edited by Lung Po-an)
