TSMC drags down closing price to lowest, Taiwan stocks fall 379 points to close at 45,354

(Central News Agency, reporter Zeng Renkai, Taipei, July 9) Taiwan stocks today fluctuated in a range of about 300 points above and below the flat line, and briefly broke above the 46,000-point mark during the session. TSMC's stock price was pushed down at the end of trading, closing at its lowest point of the day at NT$2,415, down NT$50. The main stock market index fell 379.8 points to close at 45,354.61 points, with a trading volume of NT$944.341 billion.

Among the four major weighted stocks, TSMC closed down NT$50, or 2.03%, at NT$2,415; MediaTek fell NT$70, or 1.75%, to close at NT$3,925; Delta Electronics slightly fell NT$5, or 0.27%, to close at NT$1,880; and Hon Hai closed at its flat price of NT$237.5. (Editor: Zhang Liangzhi) 1150709
