Hawks Mount Comeback; Shih Tzu-Chien Records '1-Pitch Win', 11th in CPBL, 1st for Franchise

Facing the Rakuten Monkeys at their home ground, Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium, the Hawks gave up 4 runs in the first two innings. However, a hit by Chi Ching-Jan in the bottom of the 2nd pulled back 1 run, and a solo home run by Yen Yu-Hsuan in the bottom of the 4th narrowed the gap to 2 runs. In the bottom of the 6th, foreign slugger Steven Moya blasted a 2-run homer to tie the game, marking his second consecutive game with a home run.

After one out in the bottom of the 7th, the Hawks got runners into scoring position thanks to a hit by Kao Sheng-En and a walk by Kuo Fu-Lin. Chen Wen-Chieh then delivered a timely hit, and Kao Sheng-En used his speed to score the go-ahead run, which became the turning point of the game.

The Hawks' victory also birthed a special record. In the top of the 7th, Shih Tzu-Chien took over pitching with two outs and runners on first and third. He threw just one pitch to induce a groundout from Lin Cheng-Hua. Because the team took the lead in the bottom of the 7th, he earned the win.
