TRA Catenary Line Tangled with Firecracker Debris; Tongxiao to Xinpu Section Operating on Single Track

The return procession of the Baishatun Gong Tian Temple Mazu pilgrimage is expected to return to the temple this afternoon. Taiwan Railways (TRA) stated via text that at 6:40 AM today, it received a report that firecracker debris from the pilgrimage procession was entangled on the eastern line catenary between Tongxiao and Xinpu (K159+100). To ensure travel safety, the section between Tongxiao and Xinpu will temporarily operate on a single western line in both directions. Electrical units have been dispatched to the site for emergency treatment.

TRA urges the public not to set off firecrackers or streamers along railway lines to prevent debris from snagging the catenary line and affecting normal train operations, causing delays to passenger journeys and impacting the public's travel rights. (Editor: Zhang Mingkun) 1150420
