Justice Minister Cheng Ming-chien defended the decision to appoint Hsu Hsi-hsiang as Acting Prosecutor General, stating it follows precedent set by former President Ma Ying-jeou. The move comes after the legislature rejected Hsu's formal nomination. Cheng emphasized that the appointment is necessary to maintain the Supreme Prosecutors Office's operations. Premier Cho Jung-tai also expressed frustration over the legislature's repeated rejection of government nominees based on partisan stances.
