According to CNA, Taiwanese semiconductor testing giant KYEC opened a new testing plant in Singapore on the 22nd. Representative Tung Chen-yuan attended the opening ceremony alongside representatives from international firms like NVIDIA, MediaTek, and OmniVision. The investment totals 100 million SGD (approx. 2.465 billion TWD). Tung told CNA that the new plant will focus on high-value services such as AI chips, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and system-level testing, serving as a key overseas base for KYEC. Tung stated that the opening reflects the deepening industrial integration between Taiwan and Singapore, noting that over 80% of bilateral trade is semiconductor-related. Singapore is a global semiconductor hub, producing 10% of the world's chips and 20% of its equipment. KYEC President Chang Kao-hsun stated that they chose Singapore for its stable, international, and highly reliable business environment, and its ability to precisely position itself within the global industrial chain.
