Taiwan Stocks Rebound, Reclaiming 42,000 Points with a 900-Point Gain

The Taiwan stock index opened high and continued to climb throughout the day, surpassing the 42,000-point mark. It reached an intraday high of 42,357.60 points before closing at 42,267.97, an increase of 899.76 points (2.18%). The total turnover was 1.188432 trillion TWD. TSMC closed at 2,255 TWD, up 25 TWD. Other major stocks also performed well: Hon Hai rose 2.5 TWD to 250 TWD, MediaTek rose 310 TWD to 3,860 TWD, and Delta Electronics rose 65 TWD to 2,095 TWD. The electronics sector index rose 2.56%, the financial sector index fell 0.11%, and the OTC index for small and medium-sized stocks rose 3.28%.
