CNA (Yunlin, May 22) The Yunlin District Prosecutors Office investigated a drug trafficking case involving a woman in Beigang and successfully traced it to a man surnamed Wu who manufactured the drugs. Wu confessed to learning the process online using cold medicine. Prosecutors concluded the investigation today and indicted both individuals for violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. The office stated that the Yuanlin Police Station received information about a 48-year-old woman surnamed Shen selling drugs. On January 26, police arrested her at a motel in Beigang, seizing 75g of heroin, 867.8g of methamphetamine, and NT$765,900 in cash. Further investigation led to the arrest of Wu (37). Police seized 1,013.24g of methamphetamine, ephedrine, lab equipment, and boxes of Japanese cold medicine from his vehicle and home. Wu had been learning the manufacturing process online since December. In total, over 2,500g of drugs and NT$816,900 in criminal proceeds were seized.
