The German Bundestag announced that five members of parliament will visit Taiwan for nine days from the 23rd to the 31st of this month as part of the 'Berlin-Taipei Parliamentary Friendship Group,' with plans to meet President Lai Ching-te. The Bundestag statement indicated that the purpose of the visit is to strengthen economic and cultural cooperation between Germany and Taiwan. The delegation is expected to meet with President Lai, former President Tsai Ing-wen, legislators, government officials, and civil society representatives. They will also visit the Central Taiwan Science Park to understand the latest developments in the semiconductor industry. The delegation will be led by Green Party MP Till Steffen, with members from the CDU/CSU, The Left, and the AfD.
