Taiwan's Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) held a meeting with representatives from international tech companies including Google, Microsoft, and Apple to address concerns regarding the exposure of military bases on commercial satellite map platforms. The ministry announced that it has decided to launch a phased map masking operation and establish a dedicated communication channel to balance national security with the application of map data. MODA stated that it will continue to work with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of the Interior to ensure that map services comply with Taiwan's national security and sensitive information protection regulations.
