Electronic component distribution giant WT Microelectronics is accelerating its expansion and approved two overseas fundraising plans today, with a total fundraising scale of up to NT$44.6 billion. WT Microelectronics' board of directors approved the issuance of common shares for Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs), with a tentative issuance of 75 million to 100 million shares, authorizing the chairman to determine the issuance amount based on market conditions. The actual total issuance amount will be calculated based on the actual number of units issued, the issuance price, and the exchange rate on the pricing date. Based on WT Microelectronics' closing price of NT$289 today, the GDR fundraising scale could reach NT$28.9 billion. In addition, the board also approved the issuance of the second overseas unsecured convertible corporate bond, with a total issuance amount tentatively capped at US$500 million (approximately NT$15.7 billion). WT Microelectronics stated that the funds from the two capital increase plans will be used to meet capital needs such as foreign currency material procurement and repayment of foreign currency bank loans. WT Microelectronics has been growing rapidly in recent years, benefiting from the AI wave and the synergy from its previous acquisition of Canadian distributor Future Electronic. Its 2025 revenue reached NT$1.1779 trillion, a 23% year-on-year increase, breaking the trillion-dollar mark for the first time. In the first quarter of 2026, WT Microelectronics' quarterly revenue reached NT$494.272 billion, a 99.77% increase compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, WT Microelectronics is actively expanding from active IC components into the passive component market. In 2025, it announced deeper cooperation with passive component agent Nichidenbo and increased its stake in the company. Today, at Nichidenbo's shareholders' meeting, WT Microelectronics Chairman Zheng Wenzong was successfully elected to the board and was subsequently elected as the new Chairman of Nichidenbo.
