CNA (Changhua, May 22) The Xizhou Township Kindergarten in Changhua County currently operates across 10 locations, often borrowing space from community centers. The township office has secured land and, with subsidies from the central and county governments, is building an integrated kindergarten and a public-private childcare center, expected to be completed in 2027. A groundbreaking ceremony was held today, attended by Magistrate Wang Hui-mei and other officials. According to the township office, the facility will be located on the former market site, covering about 1,000 ping. The childcare center will accommodate 32 infants (0-2 years old), and the kindergarten will serve 176 children (2-6 years old). Magistrate Wang stated the goal is to create a safe and comfortable learning environment. The monthly fee for the childcare center is NT$7,000, which will be fully covered by government subsidies. Township Mayor Chiang Shu-fen noted that the lack of childcare previously forced parents to leave the workforce, and this project aims to encourage young families to settle in the area.
