Former Air Force Officer Sentenced to 7 Years for Leaking Missile Secrets to China

According to the Central News Agency, former Air Force officer Shih Chun-cheng, after being recruited by the Chinese Communist Party, induced Air Force intercept controller Hsu Chan-cheng to leak military secrets, including operational data for Hsiung Feng III missiles. The Supreme Court has rejected the appeal, finalizing a 7-year prison sentence for Hsu. Over a period of nearly four years, Hsu provided written materials on Air Force exercises and countermeasures against Chinese military aircraft in exchange for payments totaling over 226,000 NTD. Shih Chun-cheng has also been sentenced to 3 years and 2 months in prison for violations of the National Security Act. This case highlights the severe internal threats facing Taiwan's military intelligence security.
