Lisa Su on Women in Tech: Engineering Values Ideas, Not Gender

AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su attended the CommonWealth Magazine 45th Anniversary Forum today, sharing her mother's entrepreneurial example and her own journey into the tech world. Su believes engineering is a great career for women, stating, 'It doesn't care if you are a man or a woman; it only cares if your ideas are good or bad.' As a rare female leader in the semiconductor industry, she noted that having great ideas allows one to make a real difference. She recalled taking a 'bet' on TSMC and advanced packaging when she became CEO in 2014, which proved crucial for AMD. Today, AMD has over 1,800 employees in Taiwan across 10 locations, focusing heavily on R&D.
