(CNA, Taipei, 22nd) The Commercial Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs held the opening ceremony for the "2026 Life, Travel, Food, and Shopping" event today. Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Chiang Wen-jo stated that the event aims to promote Taiwanese food and attractions to the heavy foot traffic at Taipei Main Station, hoping to channel economic momentum into local business districts. Chiang noted that Taiwan's economic growth rate reached 8.68% last year, and the government hopes to inject this momentum into local markets. The Commercial Administration has been assisting businesses in adopting design aesthetics, digital payments, and bilingual menus to better serve international tourists. The event runs from May 22 to 24 and features three main themes: "Leisure Life," "Gourmet Life," and "Quality Life," bringing together 56 brands from business districts, markets, and night markets. The administration plans to continue coordinating with international exhibitions and festivals to stimulate domestic demand and support the growth of the commercial service industry.
