Heat Warnings Issued for 8 Counties in Taiwan, Yujing Hits 39.7°C

CNA (Taipei, May 22) The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued heat warnings this afternoon for eight counties and cities, including the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan and Kaohsiung-Pingtung regions. Yujing District in Tainan recorded the highest temperature at 39.7°C. The CWA updated its heat information, placing Tainan City under an orange light warning, indicating a possibility of extreme heat reaching 38°C. Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and Hualien County are under a yellow light warning, indicating temperatures could reach 36°C. According to the CWA website, Nanhua District in Tainan reached 38.4°C, Zhutian Township in Pingtung reached 37.1°C, and Neimen District in Kaohsiung reached 36.9°C.
