The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the risk level for the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been raised to the highest level. There are 82 confirmed cases and 7 deaths, with many more suspected. The outbreak involves the rare Bundibugyo strain, for which no approved vaccine exists. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus noted the extreme difficulty of tracking contacts in unstable areas.
