Russia Accuses Ukraine of Drone Strike on Student Dormitory, Death Toll Rises to 10

Russian local officials claimed today that in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine, which is controlled by Russia, a Ukrainian drone strike on a local school's student dormitory has caused the death toll to rise from 6 to 10. Reuters reported that Russia accused Ukraine yesterday of deliberately launching a drone offensive targeting the town of Starobilsk, and Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the military to prepare retaliation plans. The Russian news agency Sputnik reported that Leonid Pasechnik, the head of the Luhansk region, stated that the Ukrainian attack resulted in 10 deaths and 48 injuries, with 11 people still missing and rescue operations ongoing. The Ukrainian military denied Russia's accusations, stating that they had attacked a drone command unit in Luhansk and that the Kyiv authorities adhere to international humanitarian law.
