Taichung police arrested a man on the 23rd after he fled a traffic stop. During a patrol in Xitun District, officers spotted an illegally parked car and attempted to inspect it, but the driver accelerated and fled. After a pursuit, police stopped the vehicle and discovered 28 grams of etomidate (commonly known as 'zombie drug') in the possession of the driver, surnamed Wang. A saliva drug test returned a positive result. The police issued a traffic violation ticket, impounded the vehicle, and referred the suspect to the Taichung District Prosecutors Office. According to the Sixth Precinct of the Taichung City Police Department, officers were on patrol around 3:00 AM on Fuxing Road in Xitun District when they spotted the illegally parked vehicle. Wang refused to comply with police instructions and fled. After being stopped, he was found with the drugs. He was subsequently referred to the prosecutor's office for violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act.
