According to CNA reporter Wu Zhe-hao, Changhua County has seen drug-impaired driving incidents for two consecutive days. On the morning of the 23rd, a dump truck traveling on Donggu Road in Changhua City suddenly lost control, crashing into the shutter of a roadside store. The rear of the truck then struck an SUV and a motorcycle waiting at a red light, leaving three people with minor injuries. The driver, surnamed Tsai, tested positive in a drug screening. The Changhua County Fire Bureau dispatched ambulances and personnel to transport Tsai, a 62-year-old motorcyclist named Lin, and a 61-year-old passenger to the hospital. Police stated that Tsai suffered abrasions to his face, chest, and limbs, while Lin and his passenger also sustained injuries. Although Tsai's breathalyzer test was zero, his drug screening was positive, and an investigation into the cause and liability is underway. Regarding the fatal accident involving a small truck the previous night, police found 'zombie vape' cartridges inside the vehicle. The driver, surnamed Li, was referred to the Changhua District Prosecutors Office. The prosecution stated in the afternoon that Li is suspected of causing death while driving under the influence of drugs, and due to risks of collusion, flight, and recidivism, they have requested the Changhua District Court to detain him with no visitation.
