Passenger Trespasses on Tracks, TRA Shulin-Banqiao Section Temporarily Single-Tracked

Due to a passenger illegally trespassing on the tracks at TRA Banqiao Station this morning, the section between Shulin and Banqiao was temporarily operated as a single track for both directions. The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) stated that railway police removed the passenger, and the section has returned to normal operations. Statistics show that 12 trains were affected, with a cumulative delay of 191 minutes. The TRA explained that at 8:35 AM, a passenger trespassed on the tracks at Banqiao Station. An approaching local train made an emergency stop and did not strike the individual. The TRA strongly urges the public to respect life and not trespass on railway tracks to avoid accidents and travel delays.
