Taipei police reported that during an event held by city council candidate Wu Yi-hsuan at Youth Park, former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je was hit in the head by an egg thrown by a man. The egg residue also hit two volunteers, who subsequently filed charges for property damage. Police apprehended the suspect, who is reportedly a well-known influencer and frequent protester. Wu Yi-hsuan condemned the act, noting that it was highly inappropriate given the presence of families and children at the event. She thanked the police for their quick response.
