Special defense budget bill sent to committee; Legislative Yuan to hold joint review next week

The Legislative Yuan referred the special budget bill for national security and asymmetric warfare procurement to committee review on the 20th. Joint meetings of the Finance, Foreign Affairs, and National Defense Committees are scheduled for the 25th, 27th, and 28th. The bill covers the first phase of US military procurement, totaling approximately NT$294.99 billion, with NT$8.8 billion allocated for this year. Premier Cho Jung-tai presented the report to the Legislative Yuan on the 19th, reaching a consensus with political parties. The preliminary review is expected to be completed as early as the 27th.
