According to the Central News Agency, Denmark's coalition negotiations have entered their third round. Caretaker Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was reappointed yesterday by the King as royal investigator to lead the talks and seek re-election. Reuters reports that the left-wing 'red' bloc holds 84 seats, while the right-wing 'blue' bloc holds 77. The centrist Moderates party, led by Lars Løkke Rasmussen, holds 14 seats, making it the kingmaker as neither bloc has a majority. Liberal Party leader Troels Lund Poulsen took over negotiations for 14 days but failed to secure the Moderates' support for a right-wing minority government. On Saturday, parties returned to the palace, where Frederiksen secured 98 seats of support and was reappointed as royal investigator. Frederiksen stated she is seeking a coalition between the Social Democrats, the Socialist People's Party, the Social Liberal Party, and the Moderates. Negotiations are expected to resume on the 24th.
