The results of the 26th Asian Physics Olympiad were announced on the 24th. In the competition held in Busan, South Korea, Taiwan's team of 8 students won a total of 6 gold and 2 silver medals, placing 3rd internationally based on total scores. Individually, Kuo Chen-hsuan from Jianguo High School performed best, ranking 9th. According to the Ministry of Education, the team was selected from 2,657 students through a rigorous process involving preliminary, secondary, and final selections, followed by intensive training. To reward outstanding performance, the Ministry of Education provides scholarships of 100,000 TWD for gold medalists and 50,000 TWD for silver medalists, along with preferential admission to universities.
