Dhaka, May 24 (CNA) - Dhaka, the densely populated capital of Bangladesh, is notorious for its traffic congestion. The city has recently introduced its first AI-based traffic enforcement system in hopes of improving long-standing traffic order. According to AFP, buses, cars, motorcycles, and rickshaws often compete for space, ignoring traffic signals and police. Police enforcement often led to arguments and physical altercations. Since April, Dhaka police have been using AI software combined with traffic cameras to automatically detect violations such as red-light running and illegal lane changes. Driver Hannan Rahman Jibon, who was fined 2,000 taka, said, 'Now I am more careful because there are cameras everywhere.' Police say the system is already changing driver behavior.
