Central News Agency (Taipei, 24th) Addressing the regulation of escape rooms and illicit filming in medical aesthetics clinics in Taipei, DPP Taipei mayoral candidate Shen Po-yang said today that tragedies can be avoided through effective inspections. He argued that site management is more important than source control, and these are tasks that local governments can directly handle. The DPP held party elections today, and Shen visited a polling station in Wenshan District with fellow legislator Wu Pei-yi. Regarding the regulation of escape room operators following a fatal accident, Shen told the media that the focus should be on inspection methods, noting that paper-based audits are ineffective. He emphasized that site management and local government enforcement are separate issues. When asked about Mayor Chiang Wan-an calling for central government source control, Shen criticized the Chiang team for 'outsourcing' everything to the central government, arguing that illicit filming is already within the scope of local inspections. Regarding his AI vision, Shen cited the Seoul Institute as a model for retaining AI talent. On the power supply issue at the Beitou Shilin Technology Park, he stated that energy policy and substation installation are separate issues, and the focus should be on the installation progress. Regarding criticisms of his asset declarations and his wife's Tesla, he defended his financial management, citing his investment in TSMC, and dismissed the attacks as misunderstandings.
