Australian police reported that a 39-year-old man died today after being attacked by a shark at the Great Barrier Reef. This is the second fatal shark attack in the country this month. Queensland police stated in a release that the man was pulled from the water near Kennedy Shoal after the attack but died due to the severity of his injuries. A police spokesperson said the man passed away shortly after paramedics arrived at the scene. Police have not disclosed the identity of the man. The incident occurred 160 kilometers south of the popular tourist city of Cairns. On May 16th, a 38-year-old man also died after being attacked by a great white shark in Western Australia.
